    Does HR Career Development have specific Admissions Requirements?
    Yes, for admission to the truck driving program, HR Career Development has the following requirements:
    1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
    2. Have an acceptable driving record
    3. Possess a valid driver's license
    4. Pass a D.O.T. physical examination
    5. Possess an appropriate Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) to drive a tractor trailer or Straight Truck
    The School Director reserves the right to waive the above requirements based on the individual situation.  A letter of pre-hire commitment from a carrier would be required prior to waiving any requirement.

    I've been stuck in a "dead end" job for some time.  Is financial assistance available?
    HR Career Development works with several financial institutions and finanacing may be available for prospective students with less than perfect credit.  Many times, a co-signor or collateral may be required.  Phone 888-750-6200 for more information.

    How can I be assured that I will receive proper training at HR Career Development
    HR Career Development is a member of the Commercial Vehicle Training Association, Inc. (CVTA).  Students attending CVTA member Schools can be assured that they will receive training that meets or exceeds industry standards, this is especially important to Motor Carriers hiring student graduates!

    While attending are there any personal needs that I should be aware of?
    Yes, clothing such as coveralls or work clothes are necessary.  Shoes should have a leather top, neoprene soles and rubber heels (tennis shoes are not allowed).  Steel tip shoes are recommended for safety, but are not mandatory.  Students should bring sufficient and adequate clothing to protect themselves from cold and/or inclement weather.

    How long is your Truck Driver Training Course?
    The Tractor Trailer Driver Training Course is 200 hours, approximately 4 weeks.

    The Straight Truck Driver Training Course is 100 hours, approximately 2 weeks.

    What type of equipment can I expect to operate while attending your course?
    HR Career Development uses up-to-date equipment for training.  Students can expect to operate:
    1. Conventional and Cabover Tractors and Straight Trucks
    2. Dry Van, Refrigerated and Flatbed Trailers
    3. Our Driver Simulator
